In today’s feature, I am going to explore, not one, but two amazing and unique hotels. Here’s the only catch; I want you to comment below and tell me WHICH place you’d rather go!
First up: Whitepod in Valais, Switzerland.
“Since its creation in 2004, Whitepod aims to prove that hospitality and environmental conservation can coexist to create a unique and positive experience. The use of energy and water is controlled. The waste is recycled. Local and regional ingredients are purchased locally. The staff lives nearby and simply walk to work. Motorized transport is limited.
By choosing Whitepod, you play an active role in this ecological mission.
Sleeping in a pod heated by a pellet stove facing an breathtaking view... Limited transport in the camp means that you have to walk from reception to your pod. This is part of the Whitepod experience. Just like walking in a silent forest, enjoying local cuisine or enjoying private ski slopes. Discover a unique experience where nature is luxury.”
Or would you rather go glamping in luxurious tent and wagon accommodations in Utah at the Conestoga Ranch?
“Located on private land overlooking the turquoise-blue waters of Bear Lake, Conestoga Ranch is Utah’s first premier glamping resort. The resort’s accommodations include glamping tents and wagons outfitted with comfortable beds.
An array of high-end amenities ensures your family has everything it needs for an unforgettable stay. Besides offering plentiful on-site diversions, Conestoga Ranch is the ideal base camp for exploring the area’s superb lake recreation, hiking trails, ATV trails, and road and mountain-biking routes. Our tents and wagons are furnished with real beds and soft, fresh linens. Our tents accommodate from two to eight people. Each Grand Tent features an en suite bathroom. Our wagons feature two sets of bunks and a single king or a single king bed. The resort offers Pack ’n Plays for rent to families with infants or toddlers.”
And in case you didn’t know what glamping is yet, here is their simple definition: “A mashup of ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’, glamping is a world-wide phenomenon that combines the thrills of camping with the creature comforts of home. While the term glamping may only be a few years old, the concept has a venerable history. Centuries ago, Turkish Ottomans would set up extravagant tents—appointed with silk fabrics, expensive rugs, and furnishings—as mobile palaces for their sultan. In Africa of the early 1900s, wealthy Americans and Europeans arranged for their safari tents to be outfitted with such luxuries as Persian rugs, linen bedding and a chef to prepare meals. At Conestoga Ranch, our glamping guests luxuriate in amenities that far surpass those found at conventional campgrounds.”
So, what’s it going to be? Roasting marshmallows over an open fire and listening to the coyotes sing you sleep at the Conestoga Ranch? Or, are you ready to go geo in your own geodesic dome at Whitepod?
Either way, both are amazing places and I hope you enjoy your stay!
