Around since 1980, Ann Sacks has evolved and built her design empire into an amazing leader in tile and stone. Her story began when she was out shopping for a Mexican wedding dress and stumbled upon a box of talavera tiles being sold as trivets. Inspired by her find, she headed home to start her company out of her bungalow in Portland, Oregon.
Sacks’ business grew quickly, opening her first showroom in 1981 showcasing assorted Mexican tiles from regional artisan factories. Her vibrant ceramics began to brighten home interiors all over the Northwest in no time at all. Starting to expand her business and love for tile through the mid-80s, Sacks created her own line of handmade tiles offered in 100 different colors to match existing products and settings. Expanding beyond just tile, Sacks broadened her collection once again to include other surface materials like limestone, marble, and granite to create a more modern aesthetic.
Eventually, Ann Sacks came to join the KOHLER family, resulting in a perfect match of two companies who share a vision of using product design as a pure expression of style and lifestyle. Following the slogan, “Shouldn’t all rooms be living?” Ann Sacks continues working to transform living spaces today and make them come alive for every person who enters. Now with over three decades of growth, Ann Sacks has over 17 showrooms, including an international showroom in London.
