I have always loved Spain and since my grandmother is from Spain I heard so many stories that it really stuck in my head. In fact, my family’s last name on my mother’s side is de la Cerda which means “of the bristle”. Trivial fact that has zero to do with the interview but I had to give my grandmother a shout out.
Designers in Spain do it with a style and bravado of their own that I really respect. They toe the line and always stand 100% behind their choices. This I find appealing and exciting because what drives their designs is passion.
She believes that the sum of several quality manufacturers makes the difference and get the success.
I love this quote because Marisa and her company really understands that quality and the pairing of the correct manufacturer can make all the difference in the world. I have worn many hats in the design game and trust me if you work with a manufacturer that does not get your product, it is a complete waste of time. Marisa is not only talented by savvy in the world of design which is why she is one of Spain’s top designers.
