Honestly between all the events happening in a design year you can really rack up those frequent flyer miles. I am on the fence about the Pacific Design Center’s West Week after all it is Los Angeles California. Then again if I were going to trek to Los Angeles it would have been for the Design Bloggers Conference to have a well-designed martini with my friend LuAnn Nigara. Maybe I am a tad bitter because now that I am healthy I feel the need to travel but nothing calls my name. Well I can’t say that after I received an amazing offer of a private tour of Barbara Barry’s new collection for Baker Furniture. Honestly it does not get better than that so you never know. I need to count my frequent flyer miles tonight!
So let’s talk West Week and why they would schedule this event a few weeks after the Design Bloggers Conference. I know this is normally when the show is but wouldn’t it make sense to coordinate a bit? Tons of the top design bloggers and a design show. I think that might be a great pilot for FOX TV. In all seriousness this show tends to be one of the focal points in the design calendar for the West Coast and highlights some of the best in design. If I was hitting the show here are some of my must see items.
