My love for new collections has turned into an obsession. On my way back from speaking at Fall Design Week I came across this new collection and I had to share! – Mark
Velis collection: a versatile proposals for the home and contract
The expertise gained in a century of activity, state-of-the-art technology and quality research are at the heart of Potocco’s production. At the centre of each creation, an extreme care of the details revealed in the artisan ability of the company to manufacture and interpret different materials.
Wood in particular, an eternal and living material, is the clear protagonist of 2017 collection, the chosen language to tell the story of Potocco’s refined and well-rounded taste.
New proposals by Mario Ferrarini open the 2017 collection: after last year’s success the designer widen the VELIS collection by declining it into two-seat sofa versions, lounge chairs, high single or two-seat stools and benches.
Ideal for a waiting room or office just as in warm domestic environments, the Velis collection explores and resolves the relation between solid wood and upholstery in the best way, defining a perfect integration between the parts, where one supports the other in a respectful reciprocal balance.
With its comfortable and welcoming shapes, the sofa, the lounge chair and the stool are characterised by a slightly curved backrest under tension, a distinctive trait of the collection, and by an airy aspect provoked by the lateral openings that lighten the design.
The perfect example of multifunctionality, the Velis bench is able to meet the most varied needs thanks to four variants that differ for design, dimensions and heights determining its use: from the all-upholstered version to those that combine the leather with a practical wooden top.
A refined materials encounter that highlights the versatility of the objects, by combining the seating function with that of a coffe table, thus transforming the bench into a useful support base.
