3 Tips To Start Your Day Right
Lately, Mondays have become a real chore for me. And not just the usual Monday morning blahs. As the days get shorter and the darkness lingers in the early morning, my motivation to get out of bed gets harder and harder.
However, everyone needs a little motivation to start the week out on a positive note, am I right?
Today I’m sharing my 3 M’s today for Monday motivation.
Monday or not, no day starts for me without my meditation and prayer time. No matter what you believe in, it’s important to get yourself grounded and rooted in a source of inspiration. Taking that time to search inside for something deeper and meaningful actually helps your mind, body and soul throughout the day.
So, grab a cup of coffee or tea and aim for a few minutes to think, ponder, or pray on sayings or verses that mean something to you. If you want some help with this, there are guided meditations on YouTube and many websites for every belief or even simple ones that are accompanied by nature sounds and calming music.
What gives your day meaning? Is it looking forward to spending time with your family tonight after work, a long walk during your lunch hour or digging in and finishing that project just under the deadline? Setting goals does a lot to give your day meaning and structure.
Become mindful of what you want to accomplish today or what will give your day more meaning. I’ve heard it said something like this, “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goals, but not having goals to reach”. Be sure to do something today that will enrich your life and planning it in the morning is a great way to direct the day before it takes control and directs you.
The final M is an easy one. Get moving! Mornings are the best time for most people to get exercise. Get your heart pumping, the blood flowing, warm up your muscles and wake up your sleepy brain. Exercise is one of the best proven methods to treat depression, anxiety and a host of many other ailments.
And while I’m not a doctor, I know I feel much happier, healthier and more positive every time I work out. So, why not do it in the morning to start your day out right? Just be sure to treat your body right after you workout and feed it a nourishing smoothie or organic eggs or other protein source that is healthy. You don’t want to stuff donuts and fried foods in there after all that hard work!
So, those are my 3 M’s for Monday’s motivation and I hope you enjoy this beautiful day!
