As I’m sitting in my house sick as a dog I thought of today’s blog. Standing in a bathrobe staring out my window I start drifting to past travel destinations. All these destinations in my brain flow out into inspiration. This tends to be a common theme in the design industry. Obvious yet true travel does inspire.
I don’t think I’ve ever ran into a designer who hasn’t named travel as one of their main sources of inspiration. Many designers use this inspiration in various projects and designs. Some designers capture this with the photograph and others with a simple sketchbook. These designs and concepts set the landscape for interior and hospitality design.
It’s pretty amazing how a textile discovered in South America might end up in your living room. You’re gorgeous couch might have been thought up by somebody boarding a plane after a trip to Hong Kong. This is how travel inspires and how some of the greatest designers get inspired.
Next time you’re on a trip look around and see the world for what it is and what you can make it. All you need to do is snap a picture or open your sketchbook.
Point of Article: Always bring back some of you travels because they might lead to your greatest future design ideas or products. And if your ideas are amazing I might have some retailers that I could send your way 😉
Stay Inspired My Friends!
