Many people might not know this but we get tons of traffic from the hospitality design sector. Odd right? Not so much as we are one of the top blogs in the hospitality design industry. Here is where a lot of people will start to scratch their heads and say really? I am a man of actions than words so please search for “Hospitality Design Blogs” or “Hospitality Design Blog” on Google. What do you see? So now that I have established why we get traffic from the hospitality design niche let discuss the topic at hand.
The Timeless Factor
Something that has always bugged me about Las Vegas hospitality design is that creating something “timeless” never seems to factor into most of the hotels. This for me is a bit sad. Imagine spending your entire career designing these amazing hotels to know that a few years after you retire your legacy might be destroyed. Your entire career wiped off the face of the earth. I guess that is the reason most designers in Las Vegas create these amazing shooting star hotels that shine bright for a while then fade into the night.
At this point I am sure people might be shaking their head but let me ask you a question. How many hotels revamp their look on a yearly basis? Change the décor in their restaurants? In essence they are changing the hotel underneath your nose and you have no clue they are doing this. Pretty soon the hotel has changed into something that is all together different than when it first opened its doors.
The days of Frank Sinatra are long dead and for me it is a shame. I would love to go to Las Vegas and have the feeling of nostalgia but honestly I might have better odds betting on the roulette table.
