As most people could tell this California heat was getting me today hence that somewhat corny title. As I am sitting here writing I am staring off at my sofa wondering, does this sofa still work for this room? Granted I purchased this gem last Labour Day I remain on the fence about it.
The fact is that in this age of rapid online purchase power many of us make rash purchases. And since a majority of us hate to return anything those purchases just sit there like a grape stains on a rug that eats at our interior design soul. Ever heard of the “Tell-Tale Heart”? The joke about this sofa is that everyone has told me they loved it but something about it doesn’t work for me.
This brings me to my search for a new sofa. Let’s call the process sofa therapy! I mean we have Apartment Therapy so why not start our own thing…Sofa Therapy!
Most items I add to a room have meaning but the sofa is something that for me is personal. It takes up a good amount of space and makes the room or should I say sets the tone for the room. Something that big needs to flow with the room or the room will just not work. Also it must be comfortable because now and then if I anger the wife it becomes my bed.
Now the color of a sofa is very important because you really need to coordinate the decor to match the colors. Most people do not dare going with a bold color for the sofa with good reason. That color is going to be the focus point of the room and might distract if not done right.
So I picked out some furniture that I like and I thought I would share what I found.
Loving this Addison 84 Tufted Velvet Sofa at One Kings Lane
Another great pick is this Bernhardt Curtis Tufted Chesterfield Sofa.
Last but not least by far is this fab sofa. This one will make any room pop and set the bar pretty high for the rest of the room if not the house. This sofa is the Haute House Bella Gigi Sofa!
