Today we talked a little bit about fabric. Most people fall in love with fabrics right away. Why not? Fabrics can make any room look extraordinary. Like Karina was talking about earlier this week that the right fabric can lead to amazing custom draperies.
If you ever ask an interior designer about fabrics the conversation might never end. For me it was all about my mother taking me to a fabric store in San Francisco to pick up drapes for my apartment. Once you enter the store it is magical with all the colors and patterns. From there my love for fabrics grew into almost an obsession.
Below are some fabrics that caught my eye and my thoughts about them. Enjoy and always aspire to inspire!
That Funky Jazz Musical Notes Gray Fabric is such a cool a vibrant pattern that for me is screams New Orleans Jazz Festival! Love the yellow and reds and the flow of the design. For me this pattern would be epic for a fun picnic tablecloth.
Woodland Noel Flannel Pine Cones Red Fabric is another fabric that caught me eye considering we are entering the holiday season. Most patterns that are for the holidays are way over the top. This pattern is festive and fun but not over board.
Drapery Lining Buttermilk Fabric is another amazing classic and elegant fabric perfect for a lighter living room on pillows and pretty much anything else. This one is simple but for me sometimes simple means classic. Can you really go wrong with a classic fabric?
Tencel Solid Knit Flamingo Pink Fabric is my fun fabric of the day selection. Even the Flamingo Kid would love this shade of pink. It might be a little bit much South Beach for people but I just love pink and it really sets a tone for cocktails and maybe a little sangria.
Heather Bailey Nicey Jane Pocketbook Rose Fabric is my pick of the day because it just reminds me of Mario Buatta who is one of my favorite designers. Doesn’t the pattern look a bit like sideways lips?
