What happens twice a year and brings together some of the greatest minds in the interior design industry? High Point Market in High Point, North Carolina of course! This year, the spring session will take place the week of April 22-26th and I couldn’t be more excited to be in attendance.
Exclusively for the Trade
Exclusively for the trade, this 5 day event is considered the largest home furnishings show in the world and attracts more than 75,000 attendees every spring and fall. With the likes of innovators like Barbara Barry, Bernhardt, Hickory Chair, and Currey & Company to name a few, designers and the press get to see the latest and greatest by the furnishings and furniture industry. To say that it’s a week that fosters comraderie, creativity and originality is putting it mildly.
Since I am originally from New York City, I have been privy to many design trade shows and high end furniture vendors. Even with unlimited access to the D & D Building in New York, High Point Market has over 11 million square feet of visuals throughout 180 buildings. It certainly doesn’t get better than that!
Clearly, High Point Market is for interior designers what Fashion Week is for clothing designers. That being said, it is no wonder that in the past, High Point Market has hosted celebrities such as Martha Stewart, Candice Olsen, Kathy Ireland, Oscar De La Renta and current president Donald Trump. This year country artist Trisha Yearwood will be performing at Center Stage courtesy of Klaussner Home Furnishings.
Having lived in New York most of my life, this will be my first time attending High Point Market. With prior engagements that I couldn’t get out of, I hadn’t been able to make it to High Point until now. I am most excited to meet other designers and of course getting my eyes on the newest furniture options.
In the meantime, I will be making my list of vendors I want to visit while I’m at High Point Market If you will be at High Point this spring, send me a comment or an email so that we can meet in person. If you haven’t registered yet to attend the show, get on it. I can’t wait to meet you!
