As everybody knows I’m a huge Barbara Barry fan. So it probably comes as no surprise that “Around Beauty” was one of the first books I ever purchased. Also since I know the photographer David Meredith it also adds to this. David mentioned that every photo in this book what’s taken by him, which for a coffee table book it is rare in the design world.
For me this book is a work of art and the vignettes are beyond excellent. It makes sense when you get one of the top designers and photographers working on a project. For anyone that loves design and framing décor this is a must have. Below is a little bit of what Amazon had to say about this book.
The first book from acclaimed interior designer Barbara Barry explores the beauty and principles of good design. Barbara Barry’s work has long been praised for its quiet refinement, soothing palette, and graceful furnishings, as well as for its ravishing tailoring and coloring. In her first book, Barry explores her design philosophy, meditating on the transformative power of beauty. Through a discussion of her principles of good design—simplicity, proportion, and harmony—we discover how to apply these principles to our rooms and to our lives. Through page after page of gorgeous, subtle, feminine interiors, Barry explains her design process and shares thought-provoking stories.
